BlackpoolNow is an online resource for both local residents and visitors. Currently in its early stages it will grow to reflect an increasing range of interests.

The content of the site will grow to include; the history of Blackpool and surrounding areas, what's on, attractions, events, where to stay, shopping, news, entertainment, cultural activities, community issues, etc.

An Open Letter to Blackpool Council, organisers of the Love Blackpool Photograph Competition;

Dear Sirs,

We, the undersigned, as a residents of Blackpool, council tax payers, or visitors to Blackpool, would like to register our disapproval of the way in which you are conducting the above competition.

It seems to us that it amounts to little more than a rights grab, a means for Blackpool Council to acquire imagery for perpetual free use regardless of it's origin or copyright ownership, and without credit to its originator!

Your T&Cs, if limited to winners entries, may be acceptable, but to grab the rights of every entrant is at best morally dubious and at worst pure theft.
